A shared chart with permissions and a named author on every entry.
Physician and software developer Diego Lerma built Astrocyte to automate the routine work of a medical practice. Colleagues started using it, and the idea grew.
The purpose hasn’t changed: technology that takes tasks off your plate and gets you back to the patient.
“
Automating every step brought back my love of medicine.
Now my hands and eyes are on the patient, not the computer.

I have my own practice
Start today on the Free plan, no credit card required.
Your AI clinical workstation for outpatient practice in Mexico and Latin America. Scheduling, notes, prescriptions, and follow-up, all connected.
Is the app available in English?
No. The app is in Spanish only, but our team can help you in English. Astrocyte is built for medical practices in Mexico and Latin America, and plans are priced in Mexican pesos (MXN).
How does Astrocyte improve my medical practice?
It manages appointments, gathers patient context before the visit, drafts your notes, and helps with follow-up. You stay focused on the patient.
How do you protect my data and my patients’ data?
We encrypt information at rest and in transit, log every change, and limit access with role-based permissions.
Does the AI train on my conversations?
Not with identifiable data. Only irreversibly anonymized information may be used to train models, as our privacy notice explains.
Does the AI decide for me?
The AI suggests. You review, approve, and sign. Nothing goes into the record without your confirmation.
What about NOM-024?
NOM-024 is Mexico’s standard for electronic health record systems. We follow its guidelines. Formal certification is in progress; we don’t have a certification number yet.
Will you help me get started?
Yes. We offer a demo, direct support, and assisted migration. You approve the information before it goes into the chart.
Does it work for my specialty?
Yes. The record is flexible enough for any specialty or discipline, from nutrition and psychology to nursing and physical therapy.
How does it review prescriptions?
The built-in Vidal Vademecum drug reference checks dosage, contraindications, interactions, and allergies against the patient’s chart. It holds Class IIb medical device and ISO 13485:2016 certifications.
Can I start without paying?
Yes. The Free plan includes a monthly allowance to get you started, no credit card required. You can change plans whenever you need to.
